What is bloating? How does it happen? What are its symptoms, and how can you treat it naturally? Find out everything here.

In today’s lifestyle, problems like acidity, gas problem, flatulence, bloating have become a very common disease. There is only one root reason for this, due to lack of time, people have started living an excessively irregular and unbalanced lifestyle, which directly affects the stomach.

The stomach has an inner layer called mucosa. In this layer there are many small glands, which produce stomach acid and an enzyme called pepsin to digest food. Whereas stomach acid digests food, pepsin digests proteins. When there is swelling in this inner layer, then there is a problem of gas in the stomach. Due to this, the production of stomach acid and pepsin starts decreasing and stomach gets upset, flatulence i.e. bloating problem starts.

What is Bloating?

Usually the cause of flatulence is the gas produced in the stomach. Due to which the size of the stomach starts increasing. It is also called abdominal swelling. This is usually felt after eating food. This problem occurs when gas gets filled inside the small intestine. Its direct indication is also disturbances in the digestive system. Although it is considered a common problem, if ignored, this disease can also become serious.

Bloating can occur due to many reasons such as lifestyle disturbances, hormonal imbalance, consumption of stale food, filling of water or fluid in the stomach, constipation, being hungry for a long time or sitting in one place for many hours, when periods come. The physical changes that take place also cause bloating of the stomach. Apart from this, there are many other reasons for excessive consumption of medicines or bloating. It also has a very bad effect on health, to get rid of it it is very important to recognize the right symptoms.

The problem of flatulence is mostly due to consumption of fried and spicy food. Due to flatulence, you have trouble in everyday activities. Due to bloating, the stomach feels full and hunger is not detected and neither are you able to enjoy food properly in such a situation. In winter, the problem of gas formation in the stomach, heaviness of the stomach and bloating usually increases. Due to this you feel very lazy during the day and you feel tired all the time. Sometimes you have to be ashamed due to excessive gas formation. These problems increase in winter because our metabolism and digestion usually slows down in winter, due to which heavy food is not easily digested.

Symptoms of Bloating:

The most common symptoms of flatulence are a feeling of fullness and discomfort, but there are other symptoms that are important to understand for the correct diagnosis of the disease. Causes of Bloating

The root cause of the problem of flatulence is diet and lifestyle, but to understand this, by discussing it in a little detail, it will be easy for you to find out the reason. According to Ayurveda, flatulence occurs due to the vitiation of Vata.

Diet- If there is more gas in your stomach, bloating and feeling of heaviness, then it may be due to your diet. In winter, people often eat more spinach and cabbage. Both these vegetables are very good for health, but they should not be consumed too much, as they can cause gas in the stomach. Apart from this, consumption of gram, gram lentils, beans, foods made from gram flour, maida, kidney beans, chickpeas etc. also causes gas and bloating in the stomach.

Drinking water with food- Often people keep drinking water along with food. This habit can also be responsible for the problem of excessive gas formation and bloating. Therefore, do not drink water while eating food or immediately after it. Keep in mind that if you have to drink water, then drink it 30-45 minutes before meals or 30-45 minutes after. With this your diet will be digested properly and there will be no problem of gas or heaviness in the stomach.

Eating dinner late- Eating late at night also causes gas and heaviness in the stomach. Actually, whenever you eat food late in the night and go to sleep after that, then that food is not digested. This undigested food causes gas, abdominal pain and constipation. This habit can spoil your liver and digestive system in the long run. Always eat dinner 2-3 hours before sleeping.

Do not lie down immediately after eating – Some people have a habit that they lie down or fall asleep immediately after eating. Sleeping usually occurs after a meal, but falling asleep too quickly is dangerous for your digestive system and health. This can cause gas, constipation and heaviness in the stomach. Therefore, after eating food, take a walk for a while. If time is short, then definitely walk for at least 15 minutes.

Do some exercise – We eat food every day but do not try to digest it. Usually, if you do not do anything, then some part of the food is digested by the body, but it neither gives you the benefit of the nutrients eaten in the food nor is it good for your digestive system and other organs. Therefore, do exercise for at least 30 minutes every morning. There is no need to do very heavy exercise, if you just walk for 15-20 minutes and do 10-15 minutes of some jumpy exercises, then that is enough for you. If this is also not possible, then try to cycle for 30-40 minutes daily.
